At the end of the prescribed course, a blood test is performed two weeks after the final injection. Enbrel is injected every 84 hours, or twice a week. Occasionally Humira can cause immune flares (sudden increses in cytokine levels). These can be controlled with the additional use of IVIg. (According to Dr Beer's preliminary data, women who temporarily flare on Humira have comparable success rates to those who do not, providing IVIg is also administered).

When the NK assay and Th1:Th2 results are favorable the green light is given to try for a pregnancy. If the attempt is positive, Humira or Enbrel is usually continued until a fetal heartbeat is established.& u" g/ l8 q& D% U/ w

Both Humira and Enbrel must be stored in a refrigerator and kept cool during transportation (i.e., stored in an insulated bag with an ice pack). They should never be frozen or left in direct sunlight. |
